Agathe Thuillier is a visual arts professional and former gallerist specialising in paintings, prints and ceramics. Originally from the north of France, since 2003 she has been living and working in the Lot department and the wider Occitanie region, France.
In April 2006 Agathe opened Galerie Sépia in the bastide town of Villefranche-de-Rouergue in the Aveyron, which she ran independently for almost twelve successful years. Her aim was to nurture, support and promote the regional and national contemporary art scene, while also bringing international artists to local audiences. Galerie Sépia represented renowned French artists and ceramicists, including Louttre B., Patrick Loste, Marc Uzan and Martine Damas, alongside foreign such as Martha Pachón Rodríguez, Faezeh Afchary-Kord and successful emerging artist Bruno Patyn. Alongside an eclectic range of temporary and permanent exhibitions, the gallery also hosted regular cultural events and concerts. Her role as sole gallerist has given her extensive experience in collaborating with artist and promoting their work, communications and public relations, exhibition coordination and event organisation. She also has developed a strong network of local, regional and national arts and cultural contacts, and industry knowledge. At the end of 2017, Agathe decided to close the doors of Galerie Sépia to focus on new arts projects that will build on her work at the gallery.
Agathe has also been actively involved in the organisation and management of the Biennale de la Céramique de Villefranche-de-Rouergue since it’s inauguration in 2014 to 2020. This renowned ceramic festival showcases an exciting programme of national and international contemporary ceramics exhibitions, panel discussions, public events and introductory courses. Within the framework of Art Talk Write, Agathe’s ambition is to enable artists and visual arts professionals to benefit from her experience as a gallery owner, by offering them services adapted to the current national and international contemporary art world and to address the expectations of public and private decision makers. While simultaneously, Agathe manages all aspects of the Art Talk Write website and visual identity, which enriches her communication and design work for clients.
